Beer Buddy allows you to use your devices camera to scan UPCs (barcodes) from beer bottles, cans, and cases, to obtain vital information pertaining to that particular beer. Discover history, alcohol content, user reviews, the brewery behind the beer, and much more all from scanning a barcode. If it happens that your beer has not been found via barcode scanning, add it to our vast database or search for it by name.

••RateBeer.com Integration and Reviews••
With Beer Buddy you will be able to actively interact with the web’s most complete beer database at ratebeer.com. With more than 300,000+ beers, and more being added everyday, the ratebeer.com database is at your fingertips. Many beers in the database can now be scanned, found, rated and shared. Users that have a ratebeer.com account will be able to write and post reviews to the website directly from Beer Buddy. Users will also be able to synchronize their ratebeer.com ratings to their device for later offline viewing. All users will have the ability to read reviews from ratebeer.com and see categorical scores for taste, aroma, palate, etc.

The “On Tap” feature is a new idea in beer apps that allows you to compose a list of beers you have not yet tried but would like to in the future. Now you can find a beer and add it to a list, read up on it, find beers from the same brewery and get a ton of other information. Beers “On Tap” can be easily transferred to your favorites or tasted list and reviewed.

Beer Buddy will also allow you to make a list of your favorite beers. Your favorites list will give you the ability to rank and rate your beers. The best of this app is the connection with rate beer, which is the best beer databank. This app is well done and the code bar read works pretty fine. If you love beer, you search of a good app finished.

Finally an app that links to my RB account. Scanner works excellent. Only thing I would like is the "my beers" tab to push my RB data besides just those that Ive rated from my mobile device. The search function works perfect on this app. That same function for true "my beers" searches or filters would make this an unbeatable app for RB users. This is 100% worth the $3 even at this stage. 5 stars if integrated web-based user reviews. Maybe even stats. ***Update*** Since iOS 5 update, the tabs on the bottom that allow switching between barcode, search, my beers, etc are overlapped every other one. I such at explaining. Either case, app needs to be updated *poop* ***Update 2*** Offline ratebeer reviews works slick now. Custom beer buddy signature works well now. I recently tried the Untappd app for quick n dirty sharing of brews. Didnt like because of the drunken free-for-all of entries. Tried sharing via beer buddy and after logging in to twitter, there was an authentication error. Cant really comment on the sharing feature of beer buddy, but maybe add a sharing feature from the "tasted" or "on tap" tabs, with a link to beer buddy/rate beer review similar to Untappd would be a good addition. But as far as this app goes now, its stellar for what the description states (besides the sharing on twitter issue I mentioned above)

Love the RB integration. The code scan is worth the money alone. I use it everyday.

Great app but would love to be able to take my own pics...some beers dont have any and some are just terrible!

Excellent. I prefer getting the ehole desl for a few bucks than settle for parts in other apps

Love everything about it. From being able to do on the fly reviews on your Rate Beer account to the barcode scanner. Just fantastic.

Some bad moments

Not working properly on iOS 8.1. It opens but then closes by it self a few seconds later. Ive been unable to search a single beer since Ive bought it.

Great app and really enjoyed using it for over a year. Upgraded my phone and was dismayed to find out there is no way to back-up or cloud sync my data. I did not want to re enter everything again. Lots of apps have the option to sync to Dropbox or whatever. I might even pay more for this feature (in-app purchase?) The only way according to the company is to do an iPhone restore on the new phone from your old phones data instead of setting it up as a new device. Apparently cloud sync was coming soon (in June). I would rate this 5 stars if I could continue where I left off with my beer list.

Has a good selection of beers and beer reviews, but the design is old and antiquated. It is still in the old pre-iOS 7 design. It hasnt been updated for the iPhone 6/6 Plus screen sizes. It doesnt have swipe back. Terrible in this day and age.

Ratebeer integration is broken and thereby renders this app useless

Keeps track of my favorite beers. Share my faves with friends. Please update this app. Nothing new since 10/2014 ???

This app could be great but needs an overhaul. Search engine takes forever to load, bar code scanner is choppy and sometimes wont acknowledge a beers rating. Probably not worth the $4. Only went to it because beer advocate was discontinued. Does have potential though so please tighten things up!
